Checkers has made a very solid hog dog competitor. He is a dog with the drive and willingness to do anything asked of him. Some of his NALC, ABDR and Open bay wins are listed on our awards page. He's proving to be a solid bay dog in any event, be it anything from A Bay to Treeing. The only working event he doesn't compete in is the cowdog trials. He suffered a severe broken leg that required 2 major surgeries so we've decided to use him in baying competitions only. His pleasant attitude and willingness to give 150% has endeared him to us as a very special dog. His first puppies, whelped late in 2005 will soon be 'out and about' in action. We're anxious to see how they do on all kinds of livestock.
***Checkers has 26 NALC Championship points in Conformation, 9 points in A Bay, 48 in B Bay and 56 in Treeing.***
***Checkers retired from NALC B Bay and Treeing competition after running in the Champion of Champion events at the NALC Nationals in April of 2009. He retires as a B Bay Champion, a Treeing Champion and a Treeing Grand Champion of Champions. His NALC show career has been a total pleasure. He will be shown occasionally in conformation, as he's the "mascot" of the team.***
